My wife and I had a very pleasant experience all the way during our process to find and buy our new home with Donna. She was diligent and showed professionalism. We have worked with Donna Findley twice now and had a wonderful experience both times. Donna goes above and beyond to make her clients happy. Pre-Approval First step in your home purchase search should be to get a pre-approval letter from a lender.
Timeline Many people identify the house that they want to buy in a weekend but most search for months. This depends on how urgent your need is, how much time you have to view property, and how knowledgeable your Realtor* is. With today’s technology, it is much quicker to find properties but one should still go and preview each one after they have narrowed their search.
Making an Offer Once you have identified a house that you want to try to buy, your Realtor* will fill out a contract which specifies the details of your offer. The most important details are the price, non-realty items like refrigerators, washers, or dryers that you might want included and repairs). You will need to write two checks at the time of making an offer. One is for Earnest Money, which is an indication that you are serious about the offer. Earnest Money is generally about 1% of the offer and an option check for the seller. If the offer is accepted, a fully executable contract will be entered into a legally binding contract. Usually there are negotiations on both sides.
